A first session is usually a conversation about what brings you in, what you hope will change, and what kind of support has or has not helped before.

You do not need to share everything at once. A good practitioner will move at a pace that respects your comfort, consent, and goals.

It is also okay to ask questions about their approach, confidentiality, session structure, fees, and what ongoing work might look like.
